My opinion; Demolition of Mosque .

His action could only be described as stirring up the hornet nest.

Nigeria remain a secular state and every individual has the right to practise religion of their choice.

Pulling down of worship center could mar relative peace we have been enjoying.

We need to tread gently, any act of incitement should be discourage.

Plight Of Street Sweepers.

Street cleaning is an important job.We can't over emphasize the importance of cleaning our environment.

People that earns their legitimate income from street cleaning needs to be protected from sudden death.

In our climes, some drivers are reckless .Many road cleaners have been knocked down.

The barrier meant to signal that a portion of the road has been cordoned off is not appropriate.

We may need to learn from developed countries of the world how to sweep the road without endangering the lives of the people.

It is rather unfortunate that more people are toeing this line on daily basis. Depression is a canker worm that needs to be destroyed. 

Take a bow.

When appointed Ministers came to the National Assembly .Some of them who have been occupying ministerial positions before re-appointment  were asked to take a bow and go.

Nigerians have sense of deja vu that the screening exercise was a formality.

Taking a bow is a sign of humility, I would have expected that these few ministers are drilled by the legislators and humbly they could have taken the masses down memory lane highlighting what they achieved.

Governance is a serious business and there is a need for accountability.

Emergence Of Yahya Bello.

Incumbent governor Yahya Bello has succeeded in clinching the party ticket.

For those who think he has not justified his plan to return to Kogi government house .They should speak with their votes.

He may have to slug it out with whoever emerges from PDP.

Senator Dino Meleaye is a man to beat if PDP  should consider him for the exalted position.

My Opinion; Battered Undergraduate .

With a battered eye, she narrated her experience in the hands of her assailants.

She was accosted by some policemen and her personal effects was searched, nothing implicating was found in her possesion.

What led to inhuman treatment meted out to her still baffles me.

Why will anyone treat another human like this?This is grossly unacceptable and the law must take it's course.

Still fresh in our memory is the lecherous soldier that raped an undergraduate .If we don't put stiff measures in place, our uniform men will think they are above the law.

Financial crime and Drug Trafficking .

It is rather unfortunate that we have been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons.Twenty three of our kinsmen have been convicted in Saudi Arabia for drug related offences.

Seventy-seven Nigerians were involved in financial crimes.

Where is our values? Values of hard work, resilience and integrity.

I think as a country we have to go back to the drawing board and retrace our steps.

Financial crimes is on the increase, most of our young school leavers prefers Yahoo-Yahoo to being creative and productive.

Most of these problems trickle down from leadership to follower-ship, we need to be mindful of leaders we elect to represent our collective interest.

Nigeria can still be great again, we have all it takes.

   

Pedophiles Are Monster

One of the monsters that threatens the future of children nowadays are pedophiles .Many innocent wards have been subjected to abuse and molestation by people who are suppose to be their parents or guardians.

It is rather unfortunate that our society is not handling this  issues with seriousness that it deserves.


How on earth will a father prey on his daughter, future of many children are hanging in the balance due to the kind of life they have been expose to at a tender age.

It is high time we spoke out against pedophiles and child abusers in our society.


I will suggest we have a special court  that will try child abusers and pedophiles.If children are truly the leaders of tomorrow, we need to guard that future jealously.

FBI:Arrest of Nigerians involved in E-mail Fraud.

Arrest made by FBI in the United States of America is unprecedented .Seventy seven Nigerians who have been involved in internet scam met their Waterloo.


Nigerians are hardworking people with a lot of zeal, unfortunately a fraction of  our citizens are fantastically corrupt.

America is a land of opportunity, many immigrants are succeeding and breaking new grounds on daily basis.Many Nigeria students have emerged as best in America Ivory towers.

The bad ones chose to be bad, there should not be any form of stereotyping, Nigeria remain a great country.

Looking very closely you could see the torso of a dead soldier inside a  gutter. He was knocked down by a truck carrying granite.

Most of these heavy duty truck are not road worthy, yet they ply our roads on daily basis.

Articulated vehicles on our roads are accidents going somewhere to happen.

Nobody cares to ensure that these vehicles are road worthy before they are allowed to ply our roads.

Some roads carnage are due to negligence on the part of drivers and car owners.

Has any lessons be learnt? Stiff measures should be put in place to regulate activities of truck drivers on our roads.Poor vehicle maintenance is another issue, these truck owners make all the monies but they find it  very difficult to maintain their vehicle.

Now that the driver has been apprehended, he should be charged for manslaughter.

My View: Oke-Odo Violence

Oke-Odo area of Lagos was thrown into pandemonium as a result of fight that broke out between some Hausa and Yoruba traders in the area.

The cause of the fight is really not very vlear, but one thing is clear we have not been able to deal with ethnic diversity as a country.

We are all Nigerians and co-habiting with other ethnic group is the way forward.

The Oke-Odo conflicts should be resolved as soon as possible and individual culpability should be established.

Those that fan the ember of violence should be made to face the music.

Child ill-use is barbaric.

The holy book says spare the rod and spoil the child. I am not aware of any religious book that admonish parents to abuse their children.

Child abuse is a criminal offence and people that are culpable should be made to face the music.

A lady was once caught in an ignoble act of locking up a child in a kennel. Parents have the responsibilities of  correcting their children with love.

I find it difficult to fathom what could make a father beat up his child to death, this is barbaric and condemn-able.

Let us speak against child abuse.

Extra-Judicial killings is primitive.

Four-man robbery gang they were, two of them escaped after foiled robbery attempt.The remaining two were not lucky and they were promptly arrested by the policemen.

In the full glare of the people the two alleged armed robbers were summarily executed by four policemen on operation patrol.

There are laid down procedures in arresting, incarcerating and arraigning culprits in our society.Criminals are not supposed to be killed extra-judicially.

Policemen involved in this murderous act will have to explain to top echelon in their profession why they refused to adhere to rules of engagement.

We condemned extra-judicial killings . 

Arrest Of Wadume and fight against insurgency.

Spate of kidnapping seems unabated .The simple reason is because some law enforcement agents are aiding and abetting criminals.

The story of Wadume is an eye opener to the fact that government effort to fight insurgency is whittle down by men who are suppose to nip insurgency in the bud.

Three policemen were killed by the culprit accomplice in the military so that he could escape justice.

Thank goodness his arrest had been effected.Let the law take it's course.

The military men involved have worked against the interest of this country and they should be made to dance Azonto before the law of the land.

Effort should be made on the part of government to flush out the bad eggs among our military personnel .

EL-ZakyZaky and Aborted Medical Trip.

Medical trip was suddenly aborted!The major reasons is simply put, a trust issues.

EL-ZakZaky could  not trust the government to deliver the kind of medical attention he desired.

The situation now remain dicey, the question begging for answer is, will government allow him to source for another medical facility abroad.

Shittes group needs to dialogue with government to resolve this issue once and for all.

What is important to the populace is peace in the metropolis, people are tired of clashes between Shittes member and law enforcement agent .We can not afford to lose more innocent lives.

In view of this, whatever measures that needs to be taken to ameliorate frightening security situations should be deployed.

Uwelu Inferno, one fire Accidents too many.

Uwelu spare parts market will never remain the same.

No thanks to strange inferno that engulfed the whole market .The losses is unquantifiable and except government alleviates their pains, it will be a herculean task standing up again.

Building ultra modern  market is not enough, do we have adequate fire fighting equipment and strategy in place.

Most of our markets are prone to fire accident

s, many markets have been destroyed in a raging inferno and we seems not to have learnt any lessons.

Government should ensure standard markets pass fire assessment test, some markets are not easily accessible in case of fire accidents.

It is high time we began to do things properly .

100 Robbery Syndicates arrested in Lagos.

Kudos to Lagos State police commands for reducing the swelling population of criminals in the state. 

Hundreds of armed robbery syndicates were apprehended.

That number is huge and it's a size of inhabitants of some villages. 

After arrest what follows?  Prosecution of course. 

Government should not only prosecute them and send them to jail,  they should also be rehabilitated.

Police Brutality.

Special Anti Robbery Squad(S.A.R.S)will always be in the news most of the time for wrong reasons. 

In policing, one of the rules of engagement stated that it is better for criminals to escape than killing an innocent person. 

Killing of a pregnant woman and a young man in Ilupeju by S. A. R. S officers is unprofessional. 

For crying out loud, Yahoo Boys don't carry weapons,  why is it that police in a bid to arrest them will always fire a shot which most time always hit innocent passersby. 

Can someone educate them and remind them that they have the duties to protect citizens and not to kill them extra-judicially. 

Government should re-orientate them on firearm handling, enough of wasting lives that are precious.

I don't know the right word to use in describing this lady. 

Child Abuse is rampant in our parts of the world. Many children have been defiled by their parents and guardian. 

It is high time we brought offender to book. Let us say no to Child Abuse. 

A call from London.

My phone rang,  the caller number was hidden. 

Do you know who is calling from London?  I said no. The voice does not sound familiar. 

I insisted in knowing who he was before any conversation could take place. 

He immediately dropped the call,  it is obvious he is a fraudster or if you like call him 419ners. 

This pranks is not new, as a matter of fact it is outdated. 

Certificate could not guarantee good job,  many business are closing by the day. Government has failed to provide enabling environment to business owner. 

Rather than thinking positively on how to be free from idleness and poverty, some people prefer to be a con man. 

The fellow who called me this morning may shift from calling to swindle his potential victims to something more dastardly. 

Then, what is the way out?  Every one should think outside the box and create a decent living for themselves and family. 

The fellow that called me this morning will call some other people and it is very likely someone fall for the pranks. 

Insecurity In Our Land.

War against banditry is far from being won. 

Criminals organisations are not relenting in mapping out methods of launching out attack on masses. 

Level of insecurity has reach a frightening dimension and it call for urgent attention. 

Nigeria has become a no go area for people in diaspora. 

Solving the problem of insecurity required holistic approach. 

Government should ensure the highway is effectively police. 

Country that fail to secure lives and property will not experience lasting development. 

No investor will like to invest in a place where there is uprising. 

I say No to Revolution.

Revolution most of the time is not always peaceful. Some countries that revolted are still counting their losses.

Nigeria leaders should strategise, come together and chart way forward. 

Civil war that started in 1967-1970 claimed many lives and yet we didn't arrived at logical conclusion. It only succeeded in drifting us farther apart. 

      Should we endorse revolution now proponents?  We can't afford to shed more innocent blood. 

I say no to revolution but yes to round table discussion. 

Victim of Rape threatened to end it all if justice is not served.

The story of a 16 year old raped by Islamic cleric is pathetic.

Is there any justice for rape victims in our climes? 

The alleged offender was trying to buy justice and get away with his crime. 

Society creates

crime criminal commits, what is the penalty for rape related offences? 

The victim has threatened to end her life if the case is settle out of court. 

Our justice system should be revived , if he should get away with it , he will do it again.
